Genevieve Chua , born 1984 in Singapore, works primarily with drawing, photography and text. Her approaches are marked by a keen interest in the evocative and recognisable by the use of obsessive detail, specifically with graphite on paper.

Her current research addresses the fear of the unknown. This process involves the appropriation of Southeast Asian horror towards new narratives.

The first of this series of narratives will be launched January 2009: www.raisedasapackofwolves.com

A recipient of the National Arts Council’s Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship, she has since shown at various venues including the well-received solo exhibition, As Brutal As, at La Liberia, Singapore in 2007.
